Finger Knitting

I made these super cute finger-knit snakes, and now you can too! Celebrate The Year of the Snake by downloading my free PDF instructional guide and learn how to finger knit your very own snake creation.

Finger knitting is an accessible and delightful craft that’s perfect for improving hand dexterity and strengthening fine motor skills in a gentle, low-pressure way. It’s a creative outlet that boosts confidence and provides a sense of accomplishment—ideal for anyone, especially those who may find traditional crafts challenging. Plus, the soothing, repetitive motions make it a therapeutic and fun way to focus and relax.

STUDIO SUPPLIES

Investing in Mindful Art

I’ve successfully adapted the mische technique to water-soluble oils and achieved wonderful results. Do they perform exactly like traditional oil paints? No, they are very much their own thing. But the benefits far outweigh any nostalgia I have for my old materials. Water-soluble oils dry faster, therefore eliminating the need for siccatives. I clean my brushes with a solvent free of carcinogenic fumes and petroleum, and cleanup is as simple as soap and water. These changes have transformed my practice, allowing me to create safely while protecting my family’s health, and reducing my environmental impact as an oil painter.

If you would like to know what I use in my studio, I got you covered. I have created this free PDF download with links to my favorite painting products.
